French Teacher (Temporary)

Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School is seeking a full-time temporary French teacher to join our world languages department. Based on the southwest side of Chicago, this is an opportunity to teach advanced language skills to accomplished high school students in a Catholic college preparatory setting.

About the Role

This full-time temporary teaching position offers the chance to instruct motivated high school students in French language, culture, and communication. You'll develop and deliver engaging curriculum that prepares college-bound learners for advanced study and real-world fluency.

What You'll Do

• Lead French language instruction across multiple course levels, from foundational to advanced placement preparation
• Design and facilitate interactive lessons that build speaking, listening, reading, and writing proficiency
• Create assessment tools and evaluate student progress toward linguistic and cultural competency goals
• Foster classroom environments where students develop confidence communicating in French
• Incorporate authentic cultural materials and contemporary resources to enhance learning
• Collaborate with colleagues in the languages department to support curricular coherence
• Attend faculty meetings and participate in school community activities

What We're Looking For

• Valid teaching certification or eligibility for Illinois high school French teacher licensure
• Demonstrated proficiency in French language, with the ability to teach at secondary level
• Experience teaching high school students or equivalent classroom instruction background
• Strong ability to create structured, student-centered learning experiences
• Commitment to supporting college preparatory academic standards
• Ability to work effectively within a values-centered Catholic educational environment
