VP AI Engineering

Sedgwick is hiring a VP AI Engineering to lead artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives at our headquarters in East Dubuque, Jo Daviess County. This is a full-time role shaping how we deploy AI to serve our customers and colleagues globally.

About the Role

As VP AI Engineering, you'll drive the vision and execution of our AI and machine learning strategy across the enterprise. You'll oversee the design, development, and deployment of intelligent systems that enhance how we serve customers facing unexpected challenges. This leadership position offers the opportunity to build and scale world-class engineering teams while establishing best practices in AI governance, ethics, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

• Define and execute the AI engineering roadmap aligned with business priorities and market innovation
• Lead and develop high-performing teams of AI engineers, data scientists, and machine learning specialists
• Architect scalable machine learning platforms and systems that power core business functions
• Collaborate with product, operations, and technology leadership to identify AI opportunities and deliver measurable value
• Establish standards for model governance, testing, and responsible AI practices across the organization
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies and industry trends to maintain competitive advantage

What We're Looking For

• 15+ years of software engineering and AI/ML experience, with 5+ years leading engineering teams
• Deep expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and modern AI architectures and tools
• Proven track record scaling AI initiatives from research to production in enterprise environments
• Strong technical foundation combined with business acumen and strategic thinking
• Experience building and mentoring high-performing technical teams and fostering collaborative culture
• Excellent communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
