About This Position
RMIT University is seeking a Vice-Chancellor's Indigenous Research Fellow to contribute to high-quality research with significant societal impact. The successful candidate will work within a supportive research environment as part of RMIT’s commitment to being an Indigenous university of choice.
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct and lead high-impact, innovative research projects that address key issues facing Indigenous communities
- Promote the advancement of Indigenous knowledge and perspectives in academic discourse
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to foster partnerships and enhance research outcomes
- Support the development and implementation of strategies to increase Indigenous participation in higher education
Skills & Qualifications
- A PhD or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field, with expertise in Indigenous research methodologies and knowledge systems
- Demonstrated ability to secure external funding for research projects
- Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to build effective relationships across diverse stakeholder groups
- A commitment to advancing Indigenous research agendas and promoting social justice
- Experience in supervising postgraduate students and contributing to teaching activities where appropriate
