A Family of Schools is hiring an Upper School ESE Math Teacher for Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale to deliver specialized mathematics instruction to high school students with documented learning differences and exceptional education needs.
About the Role
In this full-time position, you'll teach mathematics to students in the upper school who benefit from differentiated, individualized instruction tailored to their unique learning profiles. Reporting to the High School Principal and ESE Coordinator, you'll collaborate with special educators, general education faculty, and families to create an inclusive learning environment where every student finds success in math. This is an exempt teaching role on the standard teaching professionals calendar.
What You'll Do
- Design and deliver mathematics lessons that address individual education plan (IEP) goals and meet Florida's academic standards
- Implement evidence-based ESE strategies including multisensory instruction, scaffolding, and differentiated assessments
- Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and contribute to IEP team meetings and progress monitoring documentation
- Coordinate with general education math teachers and related service providers to ensure consistent support across academic settings
- Communicate regularly with families about student achievement, classroom expectations, and learning needs
- Participate in professional development and stay current with best practices in special education mathematics
What We're Looking For
- Florida teaching certification in Mathematics, preferably with ESE endorsement or certification
- Proven ability to teach mathematics using differentiated, student-centered approaches
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators
- Commitment to a Christ-centered educational philosophy and school mission
- Passion for helping students with learning differences build confidence and competence in mathematics
