Hourly Route Sales Representative

Join Herr's as an Hourly Route Sales Representative in Hainesport, New Jersey, where you'll manage daily step-van delivery routes while building strong retail partnerships. About This Position

We're seeking a reliable, customer-focused professional to represent Herr's products on assigned delivery routes in the Hainesport area. Working Monday through Friday for approximately 45–55 hours per week, you'll operate a step-van to serve grocery stores, mass-market retailers, and independent chain locations—handling product delivery, merchandise placement, and direct sales to retail partners. This role combines the operational demands of route driving with sales-focused customer engagement.

Your Responsibilities

• Operate a step-van safely and responsibly along your assigned route, prioritizing safety for yourself and others
• Execute product sales, delivery, and in-store merchandising at retail locations to maximize product visibility and sales potential
• Cultivate professional relationships with store managers and staff to support long-term retail partnerships
• Provide attentive customer service that addresses retailer concerns and resolves issues professionally
• Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation to support route operations and company compliance

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age with a current, valid driver's license in your state
• Excellent driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years and no DUI convictions within the past 3 years
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Ability to pass a job skills assessment with a score of 70 percent or higher, plus required background and drug screening
• Capacity to lift regularly (up to 32 pounds) and occasionally lift or carry heavier loads (up to 48 pounds); comfort with pushing or pulling up to 40 pounds
• Physical flexibility for frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, climbing, standing, and walking throughout the workday
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Excellent communication, persuasion, and organizational skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Stable employment history and professional references
• Sound judgment and a demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to varying work conditions
