Synthetic Biology Leader

Corteva Agriscience is hiring a full-time Synthetic Biology Leader at its Global Business Headquarters in Indianapolis, Marion County, to guide a talented group of molecular biologists advancing the next generation of agricultural innovation.

About the Role

As the Synthetic Biology Leader, you will direct technical work within Corteva Agriscience's Molecular Platforms (MP) team in Indianapolis. The MP team is central to discovering, developing, and refining microbial and small molecule natural product active ingredients. In this leadership position, you will steer a cross-functional scientific team and help shape the strategy behind Corteva's molecular discovery efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of molecular biologists at the Indianapolis headquarters.
• Drive the discovery, development, and optimization of microbial and small molecule natural product active ingredients.
• Set technical direction and priorities for synthetic biology projects within the Molecular Platforms team.
• Collaborate across scientific disciplines to translate research into practical agricultural solutions.
• Foster a culture of scientific rigor, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in synthetic biology, molecular biology, or a closely related scientific field.
• Proven experience leading and developing technical, multidisciplinary research teams.
• Familiarity with microbial and small molecule natural product discovery and optimization.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills suited to a complex research environment.
• Willingness to work on-site at the Indianapolis, Marion County location (this role is not remote).
