Blew & Associates, P.A. is hiring a dedicated SUE Technician for our Allentown, Lehigh County office. In this hands-on role, you'll operate specialized equipment to locate, document, and mark underground utilities across the region—work that directly protects construction sites and keeps projects on schedule.
About the Role
As our SUE Technician, you'll be the expert field professional responsible for identifying and mapping subsurface infrastructure. Operating state-of-the-art detection technology, you'll collect precise utility data that contractors and engineers depend on to work safely. Based in Allentown, you'll spend your time on job sites across Lehigh County, working directly with project teams to deliver accurate utility information before construction begins.
What You'll Do
- Operate advanced locating equipment to identify and mark underground utilities, including electrical, gas, water, and telecommunications lines
- Accurately document utility locations and create detailed mapping records
- Follow rigorous safety protocols and site procedures to maintain a secure work environment
- Communicate findings clearly with project managers, contractors, and site supervisors
- Maintain equipment in proper working condition and troubleshoot technical issues
- Support project schedules by delivering timely, accurate subsurface utility information
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn specialized detection technology
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
- Physical capability to handle equipment and work at various job sites
- Willingness to obtain certifications or credentials as required
- Prior SUE, utility locating, or related field experience is a plus
