Structural Welder

Join Kiewit as a Structural Welder in Ingleside, San Patricio County, where you'll fabricate, assemble, and maintain critical structural steel components for major industrial and infrastructure projects. This is a full-time, hands-on position for an intermediate-level welder ready to advance your skills in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for the complete execution of structural steel welding work, from initial layout and planning through final installation and quality verification. Working according to engineered specifications and industry-standard welding codes, you'll contribute directly to projects that serve the energy, industrial, and construction sectors across Texas and beyond.

What You'll Do

• Interpret welding drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine layout, fit-up, and welding sequence
• Operate and maintain welding equipment including SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and other processes suited to the task at hand
• Perform structural steel welding in multiple positions, meeting strength, penetration, and appearance standards
• Inspect completed welds for defects, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with applicable codes and specifications
• Assemble and install structural members, columns, beams, and connections on-site and in the fabrication shop
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and keep equipment in safe, functional condition
• Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality inspectors to ensure on-time, on-spec delivery

What We're Looking For

• Intermediate welding experience, ideally with structural steel and heavy fabrication
• Current welding certifications or documented proof of proficiency in required processes
• Solid understanding of welding codes, standards, and blueprint reading
• Ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces
• Physical capability to lift, carry, and position materials up to 50 pounds regularly
• Attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to safety and quality
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
