PwC is hiring a Strategic Commercial Senior Manager in the Pharma and Life Sciences industry, based in Grand Rapids, Kent County. This is a full-time position with up to 20% travel required.
About the Role
As a Strategic Commercial Senior Manager with our Clients & Markets division, you'll lead high-impact commercial strategy and market development initiatives for pharmaceutical and life sciences clients. You'll work directly with senior leadership to shape competitive positioning, identify growth opportunities, and drive market entry or expansion strategies across the evolving pharma and biotech landscape.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute commercial strategies for pharmaceutical and life sciences clients, addressing market access, pricing, portfolio positioning, and competitive dynamics
- Lead cross-functional teams through complex engagements, directing research, analysis, and client-facing recommendations
- Conduct market assessments, competitive intelligence, and regulatory landscape analysis specific to the pharma and life sciences sectors
- Partner with C-suite and commercial leadership to translate strategy into actionable market initiatives
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to the growth of the practice and your team
- Travel to client sites (up to 20% of the time) to strengthen relationships and ensure project success
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years in pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or healthcare strategy consulting
- Demonstrated experience with commercial strategy, market entry, pricing strategy, or portfolio optimization
- Strong analytical and project management skills with ability to synthesize complex data into clear recommendations
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—for executive and cross-functional audiences
- Ability to lead and influence without direct authority in a consulting environment
- Strategic mindset with business acumen in the pharma and life sciences industries
