Sr. Revenue Accountant

Syner-G is seeking a Sr. Revenue Accountant for our Framingham, Middlesex County office. This full-time position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and transparency of our revenue accounting functions as we advance therapeutics and scientific breakthroughs.

About the Role

As Sr. Revenue Accountant at Syner-G, you'll take ownership of complex revenue recognition, accounts receivable management, and financial reporting. You'll partner closely with sales, contracts, and finance teams to ensure revenue is captured, recorded, and communicated accurately. This role requires both technical accounting expertise and the ability to translate complex agreements into clear financial statements.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate customer contracts and determine proper revenue recognition treatment under applicable accounting standards
• Prepare and review journal entries related to revenue transactions, ensuring complete and accurate monthly financial close
• Reconcile revenue accounts and investigate variances to support the integrity of financial records
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders—including sales and project teams—to gather contract details and support revenue forecasting
• Document revenue policies, processes, and accounting treatments to maintain clear audit trails and internal controls
• Support external and internal audit efforts by providing analysis, workpapers, and explanations of revenue transactions
• Monitor industry developments and update accounting practices to reflect evolving standards and regulatory guidance
• Contribute to the month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of revenue accounting or related accounting experience
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606 or equivalent) and GAAP
• Proficiency with accounting software and general ledger systems
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Clear communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA a plus)
• Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or healthcare environments is valuable but not required
