Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture of Encompass Health and Stormont Vail Health, is seeking a full-time Speech Pathologist to join our clinical team in Princeton, Franklin County. This is an opportunity to deliver comprehensive speech-language pathology services to patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, and other conditions in a dedicated inpatient rehabilitation setting.
About the Role
As a Speech Pathologist at Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital, you'll evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders across our patient population. You'll work within an interdisciplinary care team to develop individualized treatment plans, document patient progress, and collaborate with physicians, therapists, and nursing staff to optimize each patient's functional outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing assessments for patients with various diagnoses
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on restoring communication and feeding abilities
- Provide direct patient care including therapy sessions and swallowing studies
- Document clinical findings, treatment progress, and recommendations in accordance with regulatory and facility standards
- Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to align speech pathology goals with broader patient recovery objectives
- Educate patients and families about communication strategies and swallowing precautions
- Maintain current knowledge of best practices in speech-language pathology and rehabilitation medicine
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
- State of Kansas speech-language pathology license
- Clinical experience in an inpatient hospital or rehabilitation setting preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams
- Commitment to patient-centered care and professional excellence
