Join Nemours Children's Health as a Social Worker specializing in our Perinatal Program, located in Meadow Woods, Florida, Florida. As Nemours expands its Maternal Fetal Medicine service line across Florida's Fetal Care Network, we're building a compassionate team to support families navigating the unique challenges of complex prenatal diagnoses.
About the Role
This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of expectant families during one of their most critical moments. You'll be part of a collaborative maternal-fetal medicine team that delivers comprehensive, coordinated care across our Florida locations in Orlando, Panama City, and Lakeland. Your clinical expertise will help families access resources, understand their options, and develop coping strategies as they prepare for their child's birth and ongoing care.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and ongoing counseling for families carrying pregnancies affected by fetal anomalies or birth defects
- Coordinate care and navigate families through prenatal and postnatal services, including specialist referrals and community resources
- Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with obstetrical, pediatric, and surgical teams
- Provide education and psychosocial support to help families process diagnoses and prepare for delivery and postnatal management
- Document care encounters and maintain accurate clinical records within electronic health systems
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure integrated maternal-fetal care
- Connect families with financial assistance, social services, and community support networks
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Current Florida licensure as an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) or LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker)
- Demonstrated experience in perinatal, maternal health, or high-risk pregnancy settings preferred
- Strong communication and active listening skills to support families through emotional and practical challenges
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems
- Commitment to family-centered, trauma-informed care practices
