About the Role
As a Social Media Specialist with Johns Hopkins Medicine in East Case, Baltimore, you will report to the Social Media Manager or another designated leader, depending on the nature of the work being carried out. Reporting may follow either a direct or a matrixed structure. This is a part-time commitment of roughly 10 hours per week, and you will take a hands-on part in advancing the organization's broader social media strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and day-to-day execution of the social media strategy across relevant channels.
- Monitor conversations, comments, and mentions, then respond in a timely, on-brand manner.
- Assist with crisis and issues response when sensitive situations arise.
- Contribute to brand-building efforts that strengthen the reputation of Johns Hopkins Medicine.
- Collaborate closely with the Social Media Manager and other team members within the reporting structure.
Qualifications
- Comfort working under supervision within either a direct or matrixed reporting arrangement.
- Strong written communication skills for engaging audiences and responding to inquiries.
- Familiarity with social media monitoring, community engagement, and maintaining a consistent brand voice.
- Sound judgment for handling crisis and issues response.
- Availability to work the scheduled part-time hours on site in East Case, Baltimore.
