What This Role Involves
The Senior Policy Analyst will play a critical role in shaping national and state policy related to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Responsibilities include conducting research, analyzing data, drafting policy proposals, collaborating with stakeholders, and providing technical assistance. The position focuses on protecting, restoring, and strengthening food assistance for individuals.
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of SNAP policies and programs
- Draft policy briefs, reports, and other communications to inform policymakers and the public
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance SNAP policy goals
- Provide technical assistance to states and local organizations on SNAP policy issues
- Participate in coalition building and advocacy efforts related to SNAP
What You Bring
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working with SNAP or related food assistance programs
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders in a policy environment
- Knowledge of federal and state SNAP policies and procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
