Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager, Disability Data role at New Zealand Government in Wellington, Greater Wellington places you at the forefront of initiatives that strengthen data use within the Disability Programme. On a full-time fixed-term footing through to 30 June 2027, you will provide strategic direction, ensure aligned delivery, and help shape better outcomes by turning disability-related information into actionable insights for public service improvement across the wider Greater Wellington area.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead and deliver projects that develop and refine disability data resources in support of programme goals.
• Establish clear timelines, milestones and resource plans while adapting scopes as needs evolve in Wellington, Greater Wellington.
• Engage diverse stakeholders inside the New Zealand Government and beyond to gather input and secure alignment on Disability Programme priorities.
• Identify potential risks early, apply suitable controls and keep projects on track against quality and schedule expectations.
• Safeguard data accuracy, security and appropriate use throughout all workstreams.
• Generate timely progress reports and briefings that equip decision-makers with clear findings from disability data activities.
• Promote consistent project standards and opportunities for ongoing refinement within the Senior Project Manager, Disability Data portfolio.

Requirements

• Demonstrated senior project management experience, ideally with data initiatives or public-sector programmes.
• Solid command of project methodologies, scheduling tools and performance tracking approaches.
• Familiarity with data governance, analytics or disability-related issues is an advantage for this Senior Project Manager, Disability Data role.
• Strong ability to communicate, influence and build productive relationships across multiple groups.
• Readiness to contribute effectively in a collaborative New Zealand Government setting based in Wellington, Greater Wellington.
