Lead enterprise paid media strategy at Anthropic as our Senior Media Manager, positioned in San Francisco, CA. In this full-time role, you'll direct how Claude reaches organizational decision-makers, owning media investment across paid social, programmatic, video, broadcast, audio, out-of-home, and trade publications.
The Opportunity
Own Anthropic's comprehensive enterprise paid media strategy, directing channel mix, budget allocation, campaign execution, and measurement. Your work reaches the executives and technology leaders shaping how organizations adopt AI. You'll partner closely with Product Marketing, Growth, Sales, and Marketing Data Science while managing critical agency and vendor relationships that bring our media strategy to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect enterprise paid media strategy end-to-end, including channel mix, budget allocation, campaign execution, and measurement
- Lead planning and buying across paid social, programmatic, video, broadcast, audio, out-of-home, and trade media
- Develop and defend data-backed perspectives on channel strategy, moving beyond agency recommendations to independent judgment
- Translate commercial goals into targeted media strategies reaching decision-makers at critical moments in their buying journey
- Optimize enterprise media budget allocation based on performance data, market dynamics, and strategic priorities
- Manage agency, vendor, and platform partnerships, holding partners accountable for strategic alignment and execution quality
- Collaborate with Marketing Data Science to build measurement frameworks—brand lift, attribution, pipeline impact—proving media effectiveness
- Monitor emerging platforms and competitive media activity in the AI industry to identify opportunities before they become obvious
Requirements
- Extensive experience owning paid media strategy and channel decisions for large-scale B2B and B2C campaigns at meaningful scale
- Demonstrated expertise planning and buying across awareness and conversion-focused channels; understanding of how each performs differently
- Independent point of view on media investment decisions, defended with data and business rationale
- Highly analytical mindset; comfort using data to inform strategy, optimize performance, and demonstrate ROI
- Proven experience managing substantial media budgets and making strategic trade-offs between competing initiatives
- Skilled at partnering effectively with media agencies and vendors, holding partners accountable for strategy and execution
- Ability to translate business objectives into actionable media plans and communicate strategy clearly to diverse technical and non-technical audiences
- Effectiveness in fast-moving, ambiguous environments, balancing longer-term strategic planning with rapid iteration
- Collaborative approach working across marketing, product, sales, and communications teams
- Genuine enthusiasm for Anthropic's mission to develop safe, beneficial, and interpretable AI systems
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience
