The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Field Chemist and Driver to join our team at Earth Smart Environmental Solutions, LLC in South Bend, Indiana. This position will be responsible for collecting, identifying, and packaging/non-packaging various hazardous/non-hazardous waste while ensuring compliance with EPA and DOT regulations. The ideal candidate will also assist junior chemists as needed under management's direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, identify, and package/lab pack various hazardous/non-hazardous waste
- Transport waste in accordance with EPA and DOT regulations
- Provide assistance to junior chemists as needed
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations
- Document and report on field activities accurately and timely
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in hazardous waste management or related field
- CDL license required, with a clean driving record
- Demonstrated knowledge of EPA and DOT regulations for hazardous waste transportation
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or environmental science preferred, but not required
