The Opportunity

The City of Las Cruces is seeking a Senior Gas System Inspector to conduct inspections of natural gas projects and lines. This role ensures safety and quality assurance in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. As the lead technical resource for gas system inspection activities, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the integrity of our city's infrastructure.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Conducting inspections of natural gas projects and lines to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Serving as the lead technical resource for gas system inspection activities
• Maintaining detailed records of all inspections and findings
• Providing guidance and support to less experienced inspectors
• Staying current with changes in federal, state, and local regulations related to natural gas systems

Qualifications

This position requires:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Gas System Inspector or a closely related field
• A degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred but not required
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations governing natural gas systems
