Zurich NA is hiring a Senior Construction Specialties Risk Engineering Consultant for our Builders Risk business line, based in Base Line, California. This full-time position offers the opportunity to leverage your construction risk expertise while working with a leading global insurance organization.
About the Role
As a Senior Construction Specialties Risk Engineering Consultant at Zurich NA, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to our construction clients, helping them identify and mitigate risk across their projects. You'll combine engineering expertise with insurance acumen to deliver actionable recommendations that protect our policyholders and support profitable growth for the organization.
What You'll Do
- Conduct on-site risk engineering surveys and assessments for construction projects and contractors
- Develop comprehensive risk mitigation recommendations tailored to client operations and project scope
- Review construction plans, specifications, and safety protocols to identify exposures
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to support underwriting decisions and policy development
- Provide expert guidance on construction methodologies, safety practices, and industry standards
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key construction industry clients
- Stay current with construction industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Minimum 7–10 years of construction-focused risk engineering or insurance experience
- Deep knowledge of commercial construction practices, risk exposures, and loss prevention
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills with attention to detail
- Professional licensure (PE, CSP, or equivalent) preferred
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Ability to travel as needed to conduct site visits and meet with clients
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulatory compliance
