About the Role

As a Secondary Maintenance team member, you'll play a critical role in the daily operations of our McDonald's location. You'll work alongside our facilities team to ensure all restaurant equipment, building systems, and dining areas are properly maintained and meet our standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality. This position supports management by addressing maintenance needs as they arise and keeping the restaurant running efficiently.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on kitchen equipment, including ovens, fryers, grills, and refrigeration units
• Inspect and repair building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical components
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment issues reported by staff
• Clean and maintain restaurant facilities, including dining areas, restrooms, and back-of-house spaces
• Keep detailed records of maintenance work completed and communicate findings to management
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and food service regulations
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments to extend equipment life and prevent operational downtime

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience in restaurant maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related field
• Knowledge of food service equipment operation and maintenance
• Familiarity with basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
• Reliable transportation to our North Elizabeth, New Jersey location
