Seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker

The City of Durango Parks & Recreation Department is hiring a Seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker for the busy months ahead. In this 6-month seasonal position based in Durango, Colorado, you'll maintain our community's parks, grounds, and facilities during peak season while working full-time hours.

About the Role

This seasonal maintenance position is essential to keeping Durango's parks, open spaces, and Greenmount Cemetery in excellent condition during the busiest time of year. You'll perform hands-on maintenance work that directly impacts how residents and visitors experience our public spaces.

What You'll Do

• Maintain flower beds, plantings, and landscaped areas throughout City parks
• Operate riding mowers, push mowers, and other specialized grounds equipment
• Perform routine landscape maintenance including trimming, edging, and debris removal
• Care for parks, recreational areas, and open spaces to City standards
• Maintain cemetery grounds and facilities
• Complete daily maintenance tasks in support of park operations
• Work as part of the Parks & Recreation Department team

• Physical capability to perform outdoor maintenance work in all weather conditions
• Ability to safely operate power equipment and machinery

• Prior experience with landscaping or grounds maintenance preferred
