School Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) – Full-Time

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to support elementary and secondary students in the China Grove area of Bexar County for the 2026–2027 school year. About the Role

As a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant with Pediatric Developmental Services, you'll work alongside licensed speech-language pathologists to deliver evidence-based interventions to students with speech, language, and swallowing needs. You'll implement treatment plans, monitor student progress, document outcomes, and contribute to a collaborative team dedicated to supporting academic and developmental success in the classroom and therapy settings.

What You'll Do

• Assist licensed SLPs in delivering direct speech-language therapy to students with diverse communication disorders
• Implement individualized education plan (IEP) goals under SLP supervision
• Perform preliminary screenings and data collection to support diagnostic and progress-monitoring decisions
• Document student progress, attendance, and therapy outcomes accurately and thoroughly
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and educational privacy regulations
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to reinforce communication strategies in the classroom and home
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute clinical observations as appropriate
• Support the SLP in organizing materials, maintaining equipment, and preparing the therapy environment

What We're Looking For

• Current Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Certification (SLPA-C) or current state SLPA license
• Relevant associate degree or equivalent professional qualifications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and school staff
• Ability to follow clinical treatment protocols and take direction from supervising SLPs
• Detail-oriented approach to documentation and compliance
• Compassion for children with communication disorders and developmental challenges
• Flexibility and willingness to work within a school-based environment
