RN Registered Nurse OR Circulator

The Opportunity

As an OR Circulator RN at HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital, you'll play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care. This full-time position offers the chance to influence patient outcomes through collaborative teamwork with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technicians, and nursing colleagues. You'll have a voice in clinical decisions, participate in continuous quality improvement, and contribute your expertise to advance surgical nursing practice in Saint Petersburg.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, verify equipment functionality, and ensure surgical supplies are properly stocked and accessible
• Greet patients, confirm identity and surgical procedure, and provide reassurance during the pre-operative period
• Monitor patient safety throughout the surgical procedure and respond quickly to changes in patient status
• Communicate clearly and continuously with the entire surgical team to coordinate care and maintain surgical flow
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of the surgical procedure, time-outs, counts, and patient observations
• Manage the operating room environment, including equipment, instruments, and supplies, to support optimal surgical conditions
• Maintain awareness of asepsis and infection control protocols throughout all procedures

Requirements

• Current Florida RN (Registered Nurse) license
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
• Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience in a healthcare setting
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and operating room protocols
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift, move, and stand for extended periods
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities
