Rusk Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliation of Encompass Health and MU Health Care, is seeking a Part Time Respiratory Therapist to join our clinical team in Saint Thomas, Cole County. About the Role
As a Respiratory Therapist at Rusk Rehabilitation Hospital, you'll provide evidence-based respiratory care to patients in our rehabilitation setting. You'll work alongside our interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes and support individuals returning to independence and improved quality of life.
What You'll Do
- Assess patients' respiratory status and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and the clinical team
- Manage and maintain respiratory equipment including ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, and aerosol therapy devices
- Perform diagnostic testing such as spirometry and arterial blood gas analysis to monitor respiratory function
- Educate patients and families on proper breathing techniques, equipment use, and respiratory health management
- Monitor patient progress and adjust respiratory interventions based on clinical response and changing needs
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
- Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory compliance requirements
What We're Looking For
- Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (CRTT or RRT)
- Strong clinical knowledge of respiratory physiology, pathology, and therapeutic interventions
- Excellent patient communication and bedside manner skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and quality care
- Professional demeanor and genuine compassion for patients in rehabilitation
