About the Role
Based at the Center for Climate and Health (CCH) at the Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH), this on-site Research Scientist position contributes to interdisciplinary studies examining the health consequences of extreme weather and a warming environment. You will work across major federally funded programs, including initiatives supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), helping to translate rigorous environmental health research into evidence that informs public health practice and policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support investigations into the human health effects of extreme weather and climate-related exposures.
- Collaborate on embedded research roles within large NIH-funded studies and other sponsored projects.
- Design and apply quantitative methods to analyze environmental and population health data.
- Partner with faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and students across disciplines at BUSPH.
- Prepare manuscripts, reports, and presentations that share findings with scientific and public audiences.
- Contribute to grant development and the broader research mission of the Center for Climate and Health.
Qualifications
- Advanced training in environmental health, epidemiology, public health, climate science, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience conducting interdisciplinary or environmental health research.
- Strong analytical skills and familiarity with quantitative data analysis.
- Ability to work effectively within collaborative, federally funded research teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for scholarly and applied settings.
