BKF is seeking an experienced Regional Biology Lead to join our team in San Jose, Santa Clara County — a full-time, on-site opportunity to shape biological resource work across one of the West Coast's most respected multi-service consulting firms.
About the Role
As the Regional Biology Lead at BKF in San Jose, you will guide biological assessment and environmental compliance efforts that support land development, transportation, water resources, and government services projects. This on-site leadership position blends technical expertise with mentorship, helping our project teams navigate ecological challenges with confidence and rigor.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct biological surveys, habitat assessments, and resource evaluations across regional projects.
- Lead environmental compliance and permitting efforts in coordination with project stakeholders.
- Mentor and support biologists and technical staff, fostering professional growth.
- Collaborate with planning, engineering, surveying, and construction management teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor on biological resource matters for clients and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in biology, ecology, or environmental science, ideally within a consulting setting.
- Strong working knowledge of biological survey methods, habitat evaluation, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven leadership ability, with a track record of guiding teams and managing technical workstreams.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging clients, agencies, and colleagues.
- Willingness to work on-site in San Jose, Santa Clara County.
