Ready Mix Plant Manager

CalPortland is hiring a full-time Ready Mix Plant Manager to lead operations at our Napavine facility in Lewis County, Washington. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll oversee all aspects of plant operations—from daily production runs to team management—ensuring we deliver quality concrete products efficiently and safely to our regional customers.

About the Role

As Ready Mix Plant Manager, you're responsible for the complete operation of a ready mix concrete plant. You'll manage production scheduling, quality control, equipment maintenance, and a skilled workforce. This is a full-time position where your decisions directly impact production output, customer satisfaction, and workplace safety.

What You'll Do

• Direct daily plant operations, including batch scheduling, mixing, and delivery coordination
• Supervise and mentor plant staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and performance standards
• Monitor equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime
• Maintain quality standards for concrete products and manage customer specifications
• Track production metrics, costs, and inventory to optimize plant efficiency
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry safety requirements
• Respond to operational challenges and implement solutions in real time

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience managing ready mix concrete plant operations or similar heavy manufacturing facilities
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of concrete production processes, batch control systems, and quality assurance
• Familiarity with equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
• Understanding of OSHA regulations and commitment to workplace safety
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to work hands-on when needed
