Join Nexstar as a Producer at Tribune-KTVI/KPLR in St. Louis, located at 2250 Ball Drive. We're seeking a collaborative, deadline-driven producer to develop and shape compelling news coverage that informs and engages our St. Louis community every day.

About the Role

As a full-time Producer, you'll be the driving force behind story selection, newscast structure, and on-air presentation across our daily broadcasts. This role puts you at the center of our newsroom's editorial operations, where your judgment directly shapes what stories matter most to St. Louis viewers and how we tell them. You'll work alongside reporters, anchors, and technical teams to deliver polished, impactful newscasts while managing the pace and flow of multiple stories simultaneously.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate story pitches and breaking news with strong editorial judgment tailored to St. Louis audiences
• Write clear, compelling copy that guides on-air talent and engages viewers
• Coordinate timing, pacing, and segment sequencing to maximize newscast flow and impact
• Collaborate with reporters and assignment editors to develop story angles and coverage strategy
• Monitor wire services and news developments to adapt coverage in real time
• Manage newsroom software and content management systems for efficient production workflow
• Support anchors and reporters with research, graphics coordination, and editorial refinement
• Adapt to live breaking news with composure and quick decision-making

Requirements

• Proven news judgment and understanding of what resonates with local audiences
• Strong writing and verbal communication abilities
• Experience in broadcast news production, journalism, or related field preferred
• Proficiency with broadcast newsroom software and editing platforms
• Ability to multitask and thrive under tight deadlines
• Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to support newsroom initiatives
• Willingness to work variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
