About This Position

The Syracuse University Experimental Gravitational-Wave Group invites applications from talented researchers to contribute to the development and refinement of technology for current and next-generation gravitational-wave detectors. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will work at the intersection of fundamental physics and experimental engineering, collaborating with a team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of precision measurement and detector sensitivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test components and systems for gravitational-wave detector technology
  • Conduct research and experimentation in your area of specialization
  • Collaborate with faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students on detector upgrades and novel technological approaches
  • Contribute to technical documentation, data analysis, and publication of research findings
  • Participate in team meetings and present progress on assigned projects

Requirements

  • PhD in physics, engineering, or a closely related field
