About the Role
This postdoctoral position focuses on unraveling the immunological mechanisms that underlie perinatal HIV infection, with particular emphasis on inflammation's role in disease pathogenesis. You'll contribute to a dynamic research program bridging fundamental immunology with clinical pediatric applications and global health needs.
What You'll Do
- Conduct original immunological research investigating inflammatory pathways in perinatal HIV infection
- Design and execute laboratory experiments using established and novel immunological techniques
- Analyze immunological data and generate scientific manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members on pediatric HIV and global health research initiatives
- Present findings at scientific conferences and departmental seminars
- Contribute to grant applications and research proposal development
- Mentor junior researchers and trainees as appropriate
What We're Looking For
- PhD, MD, DO, or equivalent doctoral degree in immunology, microbiology, virology, or related discipline
- Demonstrated expertise in immunological research methods and laboratory science
- Background in infectious disease, pediatric health, or global health research strongly preferred
- Strong scientific writing and presentation skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research team environment
