A hiring bonus of $2,500 is available for qualified applicants.
About the Role
As a lateral Police Officer with the City of Mesa, you'll bring your existing law enforcement experience to a full-time position where you enforce state and local laws, respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, conduct investigations, and work to maintain public safety and order across Mesa and Maricopa County.
What You'll Do
- Respond to emergency and routine dispatch calls throughout your assigned patrol area
- Conduct traffic and criminal investigations
- Enforce state and local laws, ordinances, and regulations
- Prepare incident reports and maintain accurate records
- Interact with the public and community members professionally and courteously
- Participate in training and professional development to maintain certifications and skills
What We're Looking For
- Current or former law enforcement officer with lateral transfer eligibility
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Arizona Peace Officer Certification or eligibility to obtain it
- Pass a thorough background investigation and medical examination
- Physical fitness and ability to perform essential job functions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
