About the Role
The Plant Operating Engineer is responsible for completing mechanically oriented projects involved in plant operations. Key responsibilities include preparing, firing, repairing, and operating gas-fired, oil-fired, coal-fired, and/or dual fuel boilers to meet ASME and ANSI codes. The role involves controlling the generation of a continuous supply of steam for heating hospital and related buildings, as well as supplying power to major equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, fire, repair, and operate gas-fired, oil-fired, coal-fired, and/or dual fuel boilers
- Ensure compliance with ASME and ANSI codes during boiler operations
- Generate a continuous supply of steam for heating hospital and related buildings
- Supply power to major equipment as needed
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant machinery
- Monitor and adjust boiler settings to maintain optimal performance
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times during operations
Requirements
- Experience in operating gas-fired, oil-fired, coal-fired, and/or dual fuel boilers
- Familiarity with ASME and ANSI codes
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant machinery
- Strong understanding of steam generation processes
- Excellent safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols
- Full-time, non-remote position available in Typo, Kentucky
