Responsibilities

• Complete patient histories, physical examinations, and focused reassessments for admissions, daily progress, and discharges under hospitalist oversight.

• Order laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostics; interpret results; and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Enter clear orders, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the electronic health record to ensure continuity of care.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and post-hospital follow-up while coordinating with nurses, specialists, and case managers.
• Respond to clinical changes during shifts, participate in team rounds, and help streamline hospitalist workflows for efficient patient throughput.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program with a master's degree or equivalent.
• Current NCCPA certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Valid Kentucky Physician Assistant license or eligibility to obtain licensure promptly.
• Demonstrated clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to function effectively within a hospitalist team.
