About the Role
As a Senior People Business Partner at the Wikimedia Foundation, you will serve as a trusted advisor on global talent management, blending organizational development and change management into the Foundation's established values and ways of working. Reporting to the Senior Manager, People Experience, you will partner closely with the wider People department to keep its services, programs, and culture aligned across regions. - Improve morale, retention, and productivity by mediating sensitive staff matters with empathy, active listening, and strict confidentiality.
- Coordinate with internal legal counsel to limit risk and uphold compliance with international labor laws.
- Counsel leaders and employees on performance concerns and corrective action with tact and integrity.
- Diagnose, design, and roll out organizational solutions, conduct talent reviews, and advise on staffing, structure, and succession planning.
- Collaborate with fellow HRBPs and People Centers of Excellence to build capability and advance the People department's strategic priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field with 5+ years of HR experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- 5+ years in employee relations, HR, or labor relations, including complex cases in a global, multi-regional setting.
- Solid grasp of international labor laws and hands-on experience navigating employee relations across countries.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and influencing skills, plus strong, discreet problem-solving under competing deadlines.
- Strategic acumen and fluency with technology platforms, including AI tools such as Gemini.
- Preferred: experience supporting fundraising, sales, marketing, or technology teams, and work within not-for-profit, public sector, or multicultural international environments.
