The work
The Pega Senior System Architect (SSA) is responsible for designing, building, and configuring Pega applications that meet complex business process and application requirements. In this role, you will leverage deep Pega Platform expertise to streamline business processes, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver high‑quality technical solutions. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration, deployment, and continuous improvement of Pega applications. A strong background in Pega development—supported by required Pega certification—and familiarity with DevOps tools and practices will be key to success. Your ability to interpret business needs, transform them into scalable technical designs, and support the full development lifecycle will play a critical role in driving project outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and configure Pega Platform applications to meet business and technical requirements
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical solution designs
- Develop application components including data models, process flows, case structures, integrations, UI, and business rules
- Apply Pega SSA best practices and guardrails in all development activities
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to support code integration, deployment, and environment readiness
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the application lifecycle
- Ensure solutions are performant, scalable, secure, and maintainable
- Provide knowledge transfer, mentoring, and technical guidance to junior team members
- Maintain clear, well‑structured, and supportable technical documentation
Here’s what you need
- Pega Certification Required — aligned with internal certification guidance (e.g., Pega Certified Senior System Architect – CSSA)
- Hands-on experience building Pega applications including rules, case types, integrations, and UI
- Experience designing solutions that meet business process and technical requirements
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools supporting CI/CD pipelines
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interface effectively with both technical and business partners
Nice to have
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise implementations
- Exposure to cloud-based Pega deployments or containerized environments
- Knowledge of complementary technologies (APIs, databases, authentication methods)
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Eligibility requirements
- Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen
- Eligibility to obtain a government Public Trust Clearance

As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
