Occupational Therapist – Early Childhood Programs and Services Part Time Temporary

Van Buren Intermediate School District is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist for its Early Childhood Programs and Services team in Lawrence, Van Buren County, Michigan. This is a part-time, temporary position scheduled three days per week through December 18, 2026.

About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist working within an educational setting, you will help special education students reach their fullest potential in the classroom and across the broader school experience. Partnering closely with teachers and support staff, you will deliver services designed to remove barriers and strengthen each child's ability to take part successfully in everyday academic life. Work is based at the Special Services Building, 701 South Paw Paw Street, Lawrence, MI 49064.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services that support special education students in participating fully in school and academic activities.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to align therapeutic strategies with each student's learning goals.
• Support early childhood learners enrolled in the district's programs and services.
• Maintain a consistent on-site presence three days per week at the Lawrence Special Services Building.

Qualifications

• Credentials to practice as an Occupational Therapist, with the licensure required to serve students in a Michigan educational environment.
• Experience or genuine interest in supporting special education and early childhood populations.
• Strong collaborative skills for working alongside teachers and multidisciplinary school staff.
• Availability for a part-time, temporary commitment running through December 18, 2026.
