About the Role
As a Nurse Extern, you'll work alongside experienced nurses to provide hands-on patient support and develop essential clinical competencies. This position is ideal for nursing students who want to gain real-world experience in a progressive care setting, where you'll observe and participate in the full scope of patient care delivery in a cardiovascular and progressive care environment.
What You'll Do
- Assist nurses with patient monitoring, vital signs collection, and patient assessments
- Support patient comfort, hygiene, and activities of daily living
- Maintain safe, clean patient environments and help organize patient care supplies
- Respond promptly to patient requests and communicate effectively with nursing staff
- Observe and learn evidence-based cardiovascular and progressive care nursing practices
- Document patient observations and interactions according to facility protocols
- Contribute to a collaborative healthcare team focused on positive patient outcomes
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in or graduating from an accredited RN or ADN nursing program
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification within 30 days
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Genuine compassion for patients and commitment to high-quality care
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and professional work ethic
- Physical ability to meet the demands of a healthcare environment
