About the Role
This is a 10-month teaching position with Houston Independent School District's New Education System program. You'll design and deliver rigorous career and technical education instruction that combines real-world relevance with academic excellence, helping students discover pathways to post-secondary success in fields where their talents create impact.
What You'll Do
- Develop and teach CTE curriculum aligned to industry standards and student learning objectives
- Create engaging classroom experiences that connect technical skills to academic content and career applications
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to support mastery and individual learning needs
- Build partnerships with local employers and community organizations to strengthen career exploration and internship opportunities
- Mentor students through career planning and preparation for certifications, apprenticeships, or post-secondary training
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate CTE content across disciplines and enhance school-wide student achievement
- Maintain a classroom environment that fosters respect, accountability, and active learning

- Valid Texas teaching certification in your CTE field (or eligible for expedited certification)
