About the Role
As a Mobility Assistant Vehicle Operator, you'll provide essential transportation and mobility support to our patients and medical staff. Working as part of Hackensack Meridian Health's dedicated care team, you'll ensure that every patient journey is handled with dignity, safety, and professionalism.
What You'll Do
- Operate medical transport vehicles safely and efficiently to move patients throughout our facilities and to appointments
- Assist patients with mobility support, transfers, and boarding with respect and attentiveness to their comfort
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine safety inspections to ensure patient safety
- Follow all health, safety, and infection control protocols to protect patient and staff wellbeing
- Communicate clearly with patients, medical staff, and colleagues to coordinate timely transport
- Document patient transport activities and vehicle maintenance as required
What We're Looking For
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to operate vehicles safely and navigate local roads confidently
- Physical capability to assist patients with mobility, including occasional lifting and transfers
- Compassion for patients and sensitivity to their medical needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability and punctuality in a healthcare environment
