About the Role

As a Medical Technologist II at Northwell Health in Norwalk, you will perform and interpret clinical laboratory testing that directly supports diagnosis and treatment across Norwalk Hospital. This is a PRN (as-needed) position scheduled on the day shift, ideal for a credentialed technologist who values flexibility while contributing to a high-volume, accredited laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and complex laboratory analyses across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and related disciplines.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation to ensure accurate and reliable results.
• Verify specimen integrity, document findings, and report critical values promptly to the care team.
• Follow established quality control, quality assurance, and regulatory protocols at all times.
• Troubleshoot testing discrepancies and escalate technical issues as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and fellow laboratory professionals to deliver timely patient results.

Qualifications

• Appropriate education and certification required for a Medical Technologist II position.
• Prior clinical laboratory experience consistent with a Level II classification.
• Working knowledge of laboratory information systems and standard testing methodologies.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to perform reliably in a fast-paced setting.
• Availability to work the day shift on a PRN basis at Norwalk Hospital.
