Maintenance Fitter Bloemfontein

Hello Hired is recruiting a Maintenance Fitter to support the operations of a thriving engineering business in Bloemfontein, Mangaung. This is a full-time position for an experienced tradesperson ready to maintain mechanical equipment and systems at peak performance.

What This Role Involves

As a Maintenance Fitter, you'll be the technical backbone of the company's equipment upkeep, performing planned maintenance activities and responding to breakdowns to minimise production downtime. You will inspect machinery, diagnose faults, execute repairs, and manage the inventory of spare parts needed to keep operations running smoothly. Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, you will help ensure all mechanical systems operate reliably and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily and planned maintenance inspections on machines and mechanical equipment
• Diagnose faults and identify root causes of mechanical failures
• Carry out repairs and maintenance work to factory-standard specifications
• Track and control stock levels of maintenance parts and components
• Report low inventory and equipment condition to the Maintenance Manager
• Document maintenance activities and contribute to equipment records

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification at NQF Level 4
• Recognised Trade Test Certificate in a maintenance or mechanical discipline
• Demonstrated experience as a maintenance fitter or similar mechanical role
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work safely with machinery and hand and power tools
• Reliable and punctual with a focus on quality workmanship
