Join Chainguard as a Staff Customer Success Manager serving our most valuable financial services clients in this remote, full-time position. You'll partner with major enterprises to ensure they extract strategic value from our platform while managing a carefully curated portfolio that enables deep, consultative relationships.
Role Overview
This role places you as the primary business liaison between Chainguard and a select group of enterprise financial services organizations. You'll function as a trusted advisor to both procurement teams and C-suite stakeholders, translating business imperatives into measurable outcomes from our platform. Unlike broader customer success functions, your smaller account portfolio allows genuine partnership focus—you'll work alongside Solutions Architects who own technical delivery while you concentrate on business alignment, relationship depth, and long-term account expansion. This is a self-directed position where you set the strategic direction for your accounts and own accountability for renewal health and growth.
Your Responsibilities
- Build and sustain multi-level relationships within customer organizations, from security teams to executive sponsors, grounded in understanding their business priorities and regulatory landscape
- Lead business-centric onboarding initiatives and success planning in partnership with our technical teams, establishing clear value milestones and stakeholder alignment
- Conduct executive business reviews and facilitate strategic conversations, knowing when and how to escalate to Chainguard leadership
- Identify expansion opportunities and renewal strategies by demonstrating measurable value tied to customer objectives
- Champion customer needs internally across Product, Engineering, and Sales teams
- Manage escalations as the business point of contact while Solutions Architects handle technical resolution
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years in enterprise customer-facing positions, ideally in or closely adjacent to financial services (consulting, customer success, or account management backgrounds all qualify)
- Proven track record operating as a business strategist—connecting customer objectives to platform outcomes, not just managing relationships
- Familiarity with financial services compliance drivers like SOC 2, FedRAMP, PCI DSS, and operational resilience requirements that shape procurement
- Demonstrated knowledge of software supply chain security, vulnerability management, DevSecOps, container security, or application security from a business impact perspective
- Ability to work independently, make strategic decisions about account direction, and develop approaches when established processes don't fit
- Strong communication skills, executive presence, emotional intelligence, and instinct for prioritization in complex environments
