Build the skills for this role
Strengthen strategic framing, programme design and benefits tracking, stakeholder mapping, written ministerial-quality advice, and facilitation of cross-agency forums. Domain depth in the programme portfolio and familiarity with NZ public-service processes matter more than generic private-sector playbooks. No certification list was supplied in DATA.
Prepare examples of external strategy you owned, multi-stakeholder programmes you delivered, and how you handled conflicting mandates. Expect scenarios on prioritisation, risk, and communicating trade-offs to senior decision-makers. Know recent NZ Government context from open sources without inventing internal structure for a specific agency.
