About the Role
As Major Gifts Officer, you'll take the lead in designing and executing our major gifts strategy, building lasting relationships with our most generous supporters. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, this full-time exempt position places you at the center of our mission to secure the transformative gifts that sustain and enhance Stevenson School's educational excellence.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement a strategic major gifts program aligned with school priorities
- Identify, research, and qualify major gift prospects with cultivation potential
- Build and maintain deep relationships with current and prospective major donors
- Conduct donor solicitations and guide prospects through the giving process
- Steward existing major gift donors through meaningful engagement and impact reporting
- Coordinate with school leadership, faculty, and program staff to advance donor interests
- Track prospect activity, gift commitments, and program metrics in our donor database
- Communicate impact stories and results to demonstrate the value of major gifts
What We're Looking For
- Proven success in major gift fundraising, relationship building, or donor development
- Excellent communication skills and ability to connect authentically with diverse donors
- Strategic thinking and ability to identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Proficiency with donor management systems and database tools
- Passion for independent education and Stevenson School's mission
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in advancement or related field
