About the Role
This Local Drivers position with HALF & HALF TRUCKING INC is a solo contract role (1099) running refrigerated and dry van freight on regional lanes around Ewan, Gloucester County. You'll cover roughly 1,000 to 1,500 miles each week on day-shift schedules, with no driver load or unload required. Pay averages $1,300 to $1,500 gross per week, calculated at 22% of the load and settled weekly.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a manual transmission truck safely on local and regional routes.
- Haul refrigerated and dry van freight as a solo driver.
- Maintain day-shift driving schedules averaging 1,000–1,500 miles weekly.
- Complete deliveries without handling load or unload duties.
- Adhere to safe, on-time driving practices throughout each shift.
Qualifications
- Confident operating a manual transmission (required for this role).
- Comfortable working as a solo, 1099 contract driver.
- Experience with refrigerated and dry van freight is a plus.
- Reliable, safety-focused, and dependable on day-shift schedules.
Schedule & Pay
- Home Time: 5 days on, 2 days off — home every weekend, and daily or every other day.
- Pay: $1,300–$1,500 gross weekly average (22% of load), paid weekly.
