The assignment covers 48 hours each week across 12-hour night shifts, making it ideal for experienced RNs who excel in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU).
- Monitor hemodynamic status, interpret cardiac data, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications, manage advanced equipment, and support patients recovering from cardiac and cardiothoracic procedures.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, surgeons, and the multidisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment plans.
- Document patient assessments accurately and uphold safety, infection-control, and quality standards throughout each shift.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure valid for practice in Connecticut.
- Demonstrated experience in a CVICU or comparable critical care specialty.
- Availability to work 12-hour night shifts totaling 48 hours per week for the full 13-week contract.
- Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to integrate quickly into a new unit.
