Associate General Counsel, Legal – Global Procurement & Corporate RE

Baxter seeks an Associate General Counsel, Legal – Global Procurement & Corporate Real Estate to join our legal team at our Deerfield headquarters. In this full-time role, you will advise cross-functional teams on complex commercial contracts, corporate real estate transactions, and procurement legal matters that shape healthcare delivery worldwide.

About the Role

As Associate General Counsel specializing in Global Procurement & Corporate Real Estate, you will provide strategic legal counsel to procurement, supply chain, facilities, and corporate development teams. You will partner with business leaders to navigate regulatory requirements, manage risk, and structure deals that support Baxter's mission to advance patient care globally.

What You'll Do

• Review, negotiate, and draft commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, service contracts, and supply arrangements across global procurement operations
• Advise on corporate real estate transactions, including property leases, facility acquisitions, and real property compliance
• Assess legal risks and regulatory compliance issues related to procurement activities and real estate matters
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, finance, and compliance teams to structure deals and resolve legal issues efficiently
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws and regulations affecting procurement and real estate in relevant jurisdictions
• Support contract lifecycle management and dispute resolution when needed

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and current bar admission in good standing
• 3+ years of experience in corporate legal practice, with focus on commercial contracts and/or real estate law
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
• Ability to assess legal risk, apply sound judgment, and communicate complex legal concepts to non-lawyers
• Experience working in healthcare, manufacturing, or procurement-heavy industries preferred
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
