What You'll Do

  • Plan system layouts then assemble, install, maintain, and test HVAC equipment in residential and commercial environments.
  • Service and restore furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, ductwork, thermostats, and related controls.
  • Execute system replacements, upgrades, refrigerant charging, and airflow balancing as projects require.
  • Interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation with precision.
  • Complete every task in line with Connecticut mechanical codes, manufacturer specifications, and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot using meters, gauges, and specialized tools while calculating airflow, loads, superheat, and subcooling values.
  • Operate and care for the service vehicle, recovery machines, gauges, meters, and other field equipment.
  • Update colleagues and customers on job scope, timelines, and costs throughout each assignment.
  • Submit accurate service tickets and daily logs on schedule.
  • Collect payments for completed services.
  • Prioritize tasks, stage materials, and prepare thoroughly for upcoming work.
  • Stay informed on new techniques and safety practices through training and technical reading.
  • Identify and propose useful additional services to clients when appropriate.
  • Leave every worksite clean and hazard-free.

Qualifications

  • Active Connecticut HVAC Technician license or equivalent required state certifications.
  • Valid EPA 608 Certification.
  • Minimum five years of residential and light commercial HVAC service experience.
  • Solid grasp of HVAC systems, mechanical codes, refrigeration principles, and safe work practices.
  • Proven ability with older systems, legacy equipment, and retrofit projects is highly desirable.
  • Leadership or mentoring background preferred.
  • Strong writing and math skills plus careful attention to service notes and documentation.

  • Clean driving record and ability to pass background and drug screening.
