Join Remote as a Senior/Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations and Transitions – EMEA, a full-time role based in Germany where you'll guide international employee exits and workplace matters with care, compliance, and standout customer service.

About the Role

As a Lifecycle Specialist focused on Employee Relations and Transitions across EMEA, you act as a trusted extension of our clients' HR teams. You'll oversee employee offboarding for Remote's external workforce while delivering first-level employee relations support, helping clients in Germany and beyond resolve workplace concerns and connect with the right resources. This position sits within Remote's broader Lifecycle team, where your contributions strengthen our compliance coverage across 80+ countries and shape smoother, more intuitive customer journeys. Please note this is part of Remote's future talent pipeline rather than an active opening; we plan to keep applications on file for one year as we prepare for growth in 2026 and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end employee exits across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring a polished offboarding experience for clients and their teams.
  • Advise on terminations, resignations, transfers, redundancy procedures, and employment contracts in line with local law and best practice.
  • Lead client and employee meetings, including workforce reduction consultations, hearings, settlement negotiations, and the delivery of termination outcomes.
  • Negotiate balanced resolutions in complex separations involving competing stakeholder interests.
  • Coordinate with payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, trade unions, and internal verticals to keep offboarding fully compliant.
  • Draft and administer accurate termination documentation while safeguarding employee records and confidentiality.
  • Provide first-level employee relations guidance, assess workplace concerns, and support clients through disciplinary and documentation processes.
  • Track open employee relations cases and drive process improvements, automation, and product enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience as an HR Advisor or in a comparable HR specialist role.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment compliance, terminations, and offboarding procedures.
  • Confident communicator skilled at facilitating sensitive meetings and negotiations.
  • Detail-oriented approach to documentation, privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Curious, motivated, and comfortable working asynchronously in a fully distributed environment.
