About the Role
As a Home Infusion Pharmacy Tech with Northwestern Medicine in Wheaton, you will work alongside pharmacists and the clinical team to prepare, compound, and dispense infusion therapies for home-based patients. This position follows a rotating schedule on a part-time basis, making it well suited to candidates who value flexibility while delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and compound sterile and non-sterile infusion medications under pharmacist supervision
- Accurately label, package, and document home infusion prescriptions
- Maintain inventory, manage supplies, and support medication ordering processes
- Adhere to safety, sterility, and regulatory standards throughout all compounding tasks
- Coordinate with pharmacists and clinical staff to ensure timely, accurate patient deliveries
- Support a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy work environment
Qualifications
- Current pharmacy technician certification or licensure as required by the State of Illinois
- Familiarity with sterile compounding and infusion preparation is highly valued
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and patient safety
- Ability to work a rotating schedule and adapt to changing daily priorities
- Effective communication and teamwork skills in a healthcare setting
Compensation
The hourly pay range for this Home Infusion Pharmacy Tech position is $22.58 - $30.48. Final placement within the range depends on factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For roles covered by a labor union, placement follows the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Northwestern Medicine also provides a broad range of employee benefits.
